This weekend, I discovered a part of the Comcast digital cable service that I had overlooked previously. With my subscription to digital cable, I am also entitled to a free custom streaming radio station, from their site www.comcast.net. This is provided by Rhapsody. When a user enters the names of favorite performers, the service creates a custom radio station playing music by these performers, and others which the service considers similar. I entered my favorites: Bruce Springsteen, Chris Isaak, Joe Ely, the Beatles, and Marty Stuart. The music matching is not bad. I actually like most of the tracks considered similar to my favorites, and the ones I don't like I can skip. I have been enjoying my radio station for two days, playing it while I use the computer. Comcast digital cable also offers over twenty music channels in different genres available on the television. I like to listen to the classical channels while I work or read. They play some excellent music. I don't take full advantage of everything available with my subscription, but I should since I pay so much for it. The best thing is the cable modem and high speed internet. God knows I certainly use that!!!
