Springsteen Tracker is a Google Maps mashup that I really like. The tracker began as a tour map for the Devils and Dust Tour, then grew to include all of Bruce's concerts for the past thirty years. Setlists from an Italian fan site are included. Nicely done!

Google Maps Hot or Not

Google Maps has been combined with the website Hot or Not to create a Google Map on which Hot or Not photos are available by city. Click on the balloons for a city and see the Hot or Not photos. There is even a link to meet the person in the photo.

City Launch

City Launch is a new website that uses Google Maps to show sales and specials for New York neighborhoods. This cool service shows on a Google Map the name and address of a local business, and what products they have on special.

I like this use of Google Maps very much. When I return to New York to live, next year I hope, I will definitely have this bookmarked.

New York Subway Using Google Maps

(Warning: Initially I resisted posting this mashup when it was suggested to me but it appears that other blogs are testing it and deciding it makes the grade. I will warn you that if you're using Firefox version 1.0.1 or any version of Netscape, don't bother trying to view it. Upgrade to the latest version of Firefox before clicking on this link. I want to expose people to the latest and greatest Google Maps mashups, but I don't want my links to crash browsers and make people angry with me. Now, on with the show...) --> Google Maps + NYC Subway system - This mashup takes ALL 400+ subway stations and plots it on Google Maps. There is Station Info popup markers and you can search and plot multiple addresses. There are only 2 zoom levels on this one because of how much data needs to be re-plotted each time you zoom in. ***** This use of Google Maps is mind boggling. All 400+ stops of the New York City subway system are shown. It takes a long time to load, and is incredibly detailed. When an address is entered, it zooms to the address. Beautiful piece of work.

Bob Dylan Tours on Google Maps

Here is a link to one of the most interesting ideas for using Google maps that I have seen. This shows Dylan's concert tours, the cities where he has performed, where he is performing, and where he will perform in the future.

Beautiful Site Using Google Maps

Visit this beautiful site created using Google Maps. The site uses Google Maps to show the location of various businesses in the neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. Not only are the businesses shown on the map, there are thumbnail photos of them, with name, address, and brief commentary.

There are five maps of Williamsburg streets, and one of the East Village in Manhattan. Though I haven't been to Williamsburg, I am familiar with the East Village, and this page is beautifully done and accurate.

There is also a map of Chinatown.

This is the best and most attractive use of Google Maps I have seen.

Google Maps + Cafespot.net - Cafespot is in an independent, user-drive site where people can suggest their favourite deli, restaurant or cafe in many countries. The tool now plots these locations on a Google Maps interface. (Example)

Google Maps + Sydney, Australia golf courses - With Google Maps going global recently the Google Maps mashups are starting to pop up everywhere! Here is one from Sydney Australia which plots where golf courses are located around the Sydney area. There is a also a far less interesting mashup of rainfall and dam catchment data as well.

..Although this mashup isn't necessarily ready for production just yet, here is a discussion taking place in the Google Maps API Google Group discussion area about a Guest Map tool which shows you where your website visitors are coming in from.

I have only had time to look at the first one, for webcams, so far. These enhancements keep coming, and most of them are interesting and fun. Some of them are quite useful, too.

BeenMapped, Google Map Hack

BeenMapped.com - BeenMapped.com is an enhancement to the Google Sightseeing concept allowing visitors to register for an account and bookmark all the cool places they find on Google Maps. Created with the Google Maps API, the views can be suggested marked and ranked. A feature I like on this site is the discussion that continues to take place on a marked location.
