Summary: Under moderate supervision performs all functions related to the
processing of interlibrary loans, circulation of materials, receipt,
preparation and processing of resources to be added to the collection,
computerized record maintenance and serials control/inventory for the
library.  Provides paraprofessional support for all phases of library
operations and ensures the provision of service in the absence of the
librarian. Recommends improvements in library operations. Performs other
duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in the health sciences or liberal arts, bachelor's degree
preferred.
Prior experience working in a health science, academic or public library
preferred.
This position works directly with library users, thus excellent
interpersonal and communication skills are required.  Ability to work
effectively as a member of a team
Essential Position Functions
The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to perform a variety of public
and technical
Services, e.g., answering factual, directional, and ready reference
questions, orienting and assisting customers in the use of library
resources, providing basic technical support and instruction on the use of
personal computers, standard software and library programs, processing
interlibrary loans and insuring copyright compliance. Carries out other
duties assigned by supervisor.
