Remember the Alamo

Today is the 169th anniversary of the fall of the Alamo (March 6, 1836). On that day, the Mexican army under the command of Santa Ana killed Colonel Jim Bowie, Colonel Davy Crockett, and Colonel William Barrett Travis, among some 185 others. Since Bowie has been my hero since early childhood (hence part of the name of this blog), this is a personal remembrance day for me.
