The Colts Win the Super Bowl

The Indianapolis Colts won Super Bowl 41 tonight, defeating the Chicago Bears. This is the first Super Bowl win for the Colts since they moved to Indianapolis from Baltimore.

The city is celebrating, some people outside, even though the temperature is now 4 degrees, with a wind chill factor of -13 degrees.

I am so proud of the team and the way they have played this post season, and so happy for my brother, who works for the Colts, and was able to go to Miami with the team and the Colts staff and enjoy the game live.

Today, January 21, at 6:30pm Eastern time, the Indianapolis Colts play the New England Patriots in the AFC championship game.Colts fans have waited so long for this. I can hardly wait, though it is still 18 hours away.

The best of luck to the Colts. Have fun, guys; play well and win your way to the Super Bowl!!

THE COLTS ARE 8-0 AGAIN

The Indianapolis Colts are 8 - 0 for the second season in a row after defeating the New England Patriots tonight 27-20. I am so tired tonight I have to go to bed now so I can work tomorrow, but will write more tomorrow night. I am so proud of Peyton Manning and the Colts. This is a wonderful win, and they didn't come from behind to do it!!

The NFL Rules With Angel and Wade

It gives me great pleasure to announce that The NFL Rules With Angel and Wade is now appearing on the Indianapolis Colts website. The Wade in the title is my brother, and the title is a video segment of a television show called Colts Up Close, which appears on Fox 59, Indianapolis' local Fox affiliate, on Friday nights at 11:30pm.

The NFL Rules...explains a different rule, such as clipping, or how to signal a first down, each week. The videos are short, informative, and funny.

Peyton Manning/Kenneth Mitchell

While watching the new CBS television series Jericho tonight, I noticed a definite resemblance between Keneth Mitchell, the actor who plays the Deputy Mayor, and Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning.

Colts 43/Texans 24

The Indianapolis Colts are 2-0 with today's win over the Houston Texans.

Peyton Manning threw three touchdowns giving him 2,297 completions, which broke Johnny Unitas' franchise record for completions.

Marvin Harrison now has 943 receptions, moving him up to number on the list for receptions, surpassing Art Monk's record.

Reggie Wayne, Brandon Stokley, Dominic Rhodes and Joseph Addai also had touchdowns, though Stokley injured his ankle again and had to leave the game.

Watching the Colts play today was a pleasure. The improvement over last week's performance was gratifying. Keep it up next week against the Jaguars, guys!!

Colts 26/Giants 21

The Indianapolis Colts won their first regular season game tonight, beating the Giants 26 to 21, in a hard fought game. Many people were calling this game the Manning bowl, as it pitted Peyton Manning against his younger brother, Eli, the Giants quarterback. I was proud of Peyton and how he handled himself in the game, and with Eli afterwards. Eli looks impressive, and is going to be a very good player. Watching the effects of the game on their parents was difficult. I don't see how they stood it, with millions of people watching them. Not an enviable position for any parent.

Doug Flutie Retires From Football

My favorite football player has retired at the age of 43. Doug Flutie has decided to hang up his helmet and join the world of sports broadcasting. He will become a college football analyst for ABC Sports and ESPN. Guess I will have to start watching college football.

Adam Vinatieri

The former New England Patriot's kicker Adam Vinatieri has agreed in principal to join the Indianapolis Colts. I was astonished when my brother told me this tonight at dinner, as I hadn't read anything about it on the internet today, but it is true, according to the Colts' website.

What a wonderful surprise. If we have to lose Mike Vanderjagt, I can't think of anyone I would rather have replace him. What a sight this will be, seeing Vinatieri in Colts uniform playing the Patriots this fall!!

NFL Wildcard Weekend

I spent most of my weekend watching the NFL Wildcard games, and, of course, having to wait until the last game today to learn what team would be playing the Colts next Sunday. The Colts will play the Pittsburgh Steelers on January 15.

Saturday's first match up was: the Washington Redskins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Redskins won, and will play the Seattle Seahawks next weekend.

The second game on Saturday was between the New England Patriots vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Patriots won, and will play the Denver Broncos next weekend.

The first game today, Sunday, was between the Carolina Panthers and the New York Giants. The Panthers won, which was a big disappointment. I wanted Eli Manning and the Giants to win.

Finally, in the last game today, the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Colts and the Steelers next Sunday afternoon. Should the Colts win, who will they be playing on January 22? And the Super Bowl?

I did see the season two part two premiere episode of Battlestar Galactica, Resurrection Ship, Friday night, but haven't had much time to think about it or to post a review of it, due to the football games. I plan to watch it again Monday night and write a review of it then.

For now, briefly, it was a wonderful, very impressive episode. I am looking forward to seeing it again tomorrow. I am so glad it is back. I missed it so much, I missed those wonderful drums!!
